Afghan & Pakistani Rugs
Warm colors and classic motifs
Afghan and Pakistani rugs are characterized by earthy tones such as deep red, brown, golden ochre and dark blue, combined with distinctive geometric patterns. Afghan rugs are dominated by the elephant foot-like Göl pattern and repeated octagons. Pakistani carpets, especially those in the Mori and Bokhara styles, are characterized by denser repetitions of smaller geometric shapes.
Modern materials
Carpient's collections of oriental rugs combine tradition with modern materials. Our rugs are made with a focus on durability and quality, making them both durable and comfortable to walk on. With our OEKO-TEX certification, you can be sure that each rug is free of harmful substances and made under good working conditions. This makes them both a responsible and aesthetic choice for your home!
Decorate with Afghan and Pakistani rugs: Room by room
Tip: Place an Afghan or Pakistani runner in hallways and corridors to add warmth and softness to these often overlooked spaces.
Living room: A large Afghan or Pakistani rug spreads warmth throughout the living room. A smaller rectangular rug is perfect in front of the fireplace, while a round rug creates an inviting reading nook.
Kitchen: Give the kitchen a warm and inviting feel with an Afghan or Pakistani rug. Place a runner by the kitchen island or sink, or choose a larger rug under the kitchen table to add a cozy atmosphere. Round rugs are usually best for round tables, and rectangular rugs for rectangular tables - but that's not a rule.
Bedroom: Create a calm and safe atmosphere in your bedroom with an Afghan or Pakistani rug. The feeling of putting your feet on a soft rug when you wake up is a great way to start the day. Place a large round or rectangular rug under the bed, with part of it sticking out at the sides, or place runners at the sides of the bed. Choose a blue rug to enhance the peaceful atmosphere of the room.
Hallway: An Afghan or Pakistani rug in the hallway gives a welcoming first impression, while also withstanding wear and tear. A runner will fit in almost any hallway, leading invitingly into the home. If you have plenty of space, a round rug can be a nice contrast! Keep in mind that darker colors, such as red, hide dirt better.
Dining room: Place a larger round or rectangular rug under the dining table to create a cozy atmosphere. Ideally, choose a rug large enough to cover the chairs when pulled out.
Office: Give your home office an inspiring working environment with Afghan or Pakistani rugs. Choose a runner if you have a small study, the distinctive pattern of the rugs will make the room feel instantly bigger! Choose a large round or rectangular rug to make a large room feel warm and cozy.
